My name is Barbara Cross, and I am an Independent Norwex Sales Consultant from Buffalo, NY. My journey is off to an exciting start, having joined Norwex in April 2015.

Ending my “Early Retirement”

In 2009,  I graduated with my MBA, which I had earned while still working full time in University Administration. Only months later, I made the difficult decision to leave that career to become a stay at home Mommy and raise my growing family.


My husband and I have been blessed with four wonderful children, and I’ve treasured being able to spend the time home with them.  As a stay at home Mom I often explained that I had “retired” from my previous career, and disconnected myself from that working world.  It was at times painful to lose the working component of myself, as it was quickly consumed with lots of diaper changes and financial loss of my income on our family budget.

While I was working on my graduate coursework, I had always planned on running my own business.  I always had the itch to work for myself. I knew how running a business worked, I had the drive and the skill set, but I struggled with WHAT should that business be?

In 2015, I discovered WHAT that business is for me.  I attended a Norwex demonstration, and decided I had to own the entire catalog.  At first, I thought I’d just host a party of my own and earn free products that way.

Then I kept thinking about my dreams of being my own boss.  I started thinking about my three children who are getting closer to all attending school full time, and the thoughts of returning to an office and missing out on their special activities gave me pause.

As I learned more about the business opportunity, (and how I could be earning income while choosing my own hours), it suddenly made a lot of sense for me to combine my business background with Norwex.

Knowledge is Power


I was drawn toward using Norwex in my home by how easy it is to use the Norwex products to get faster & better cleaning results without the harmful endocrine disrupting chemicals and negative environmental impact of traditional cleaners in homes and across the planet.  My role as a consultant has become to educate and share what a difference Norwex can make on the lives of family, friends, teammates and customers!  As consumers, we all have choices of which products to use in our lives, and for me it is really fulfilling to share how Norwex can be a great choice for our homes!

Lots of Reasons 
Everyone has their individual reasons for starting a career with Norwex.   Some consultants like to earn extra “fun money” for trips or new home decor.  Many are able to pay down bills, or cut back hours at a job which leaves them unfulfilled.  Supplementing a retirement income, or saving for a downpayment on a new home or car would all be great reasons to start your own Norwex business.  Some additional income toward hobbies, kid’s sports and dance lessons, or maybe some new wardrobe pieces for you?


I love working with Team Members to help them succeed in their business.  The training available to all consultants is incredible, and there is a LOT of it available!  Webinars, conference calls, and training calls are all available online, complemented with our own Team training website which has even more resource documents.  My role is to share the best information to help new consultants be successful, and help you find what you need!  Norwex truly cares about it’s consultants whether they decide it’s part-time, full-time or Big TIME!
